As was agreed last December, this year's New Year's gathering is due to take place this summer not only because it gives me a chance to be on the right continent, but more importantly because we have so many next-generation BLDers to now introduce to the group. (Welcome to the family Honorah, Clare, Jaya, Sophie, Sarah, Madeleine and Eleanor!!) Other than the wildcard option (see below), Jason won't be able to join us, but I'll bring Sarah who looks just like him.
There are only two relevant questions. Please vote accordingly.
When?
Weekend of June 13 (preferred)
-or-
Weekend of June 20
Where? (All options are in North America; others have been discarded)
Ely, Minnesota
-or-
Somewhere along the Eastern seaboard (volunteer to host?)
-or-
Large hunting grounds in Kansas
Wildcard Option
Memorial Day weekend in Chicago.
We'll be there from Thursday, May 21 through Monday, May 25 for a must-attend family wedding. We can put the Muffinator (my mom) to work right away to find a place for all of us to stay if this is an option that works for lots of folks.
However this works out, I'll bring a ham.
Amanda

Anne & I humbly offer Framingham, MA as a possible venue for either weekend in June.
While not as spacious as the Papsdorf Ranch, our yard is certainly big enough for all our progeny to tire themselves out. It will also give me an excuse to buy a nice grill.
We have some room for guests (futon in one room, pull-out sofa in another, air mattress in the living room) but there are plenty of more reputable places to stay in the area too.
There are lots of flights into Boston and Manchester. Limited shuttle service is also available.
I will now resume lurking in the shadows.
any updates on this little soiree we are planning? hillary, madeleine, and i are gearing up for it. let us know so we can start looking into flights, or i can see if amanda is still in the business of booking them for me.
I think the two East Coast offers were Doug&Ann's and Dan&Betsy's (with help from the Walshes). Obviously, I'm partial to not having to go anywhere, but, like Doug, I'm willing to follow the sway of the masses.
Someone has to step up and decide how to decide. Amanda, this is why we pay you the big bucks.
