New Job?

I have a job offer in Audubon, PA. It looks like it's about 1 hour from my house. And I have to drive the Blue Route and/or Schuylkill. Any thoughts?

A job is good.

Both routes, as you know, are bad.

If you have a long drive, you can learn a lot through books on tape and other such things.

Those are my thoughts, based on the information provided.

If you need a job, take it. If you have another one, don't do it. You'll regret the two hours a day you spend in the car and away from your family. That's 10 hours a week. You could build a lot of Lego bridges - or whatever kids do these days - in 10 hours. On the other hand, if you consume large quantities of gasoline while commuting, it might prop oil prices back up which could be good for some of us.

That is definitely the FIRST time I've ever heard someone cheer for higher gas prices. Wow, Amanda has truly taken a giant swig of the Kool-Aid. Or should I say Octane?

I hate commuting. I hate being unemployed worse though.

I'm a big fan of working from home. No commuting costs and no work clothes. I think I'd like not working even better, but it'll be a few months before I give that a try. (Part-time is pretty good, too, so I'm not complaining too much.)

Rob, if I switch from Kool-Aid to wine would that be better?
