I don't want to speak for the Walshes, but I think that they had volunteered to host, which I suppose means they would choose the weekend.
I'm not sure how many will be around for it, but I have on my calendar that Kansasmom and Kansasdad have volunteered to host in 2012 (leaving 2011 open).
two comments: 1. Are we talking about NYE in summer? If so, I'm moving to the greater Walsh-area in 6.5 weeks (June 25, precisely. Columbia, MD). So EXCITED 2. If we are talking about winter NYE--I finally have that holiday off, too!
